Motivational Monday – Week 5

With prayers, all things are possible to God.

I missed my postings last week. I was in a bit of a crisis. Doing a post for Motivational Monday was the last thing in my mind.

On Monday last week, my husband was rushed to emergency and within the hour at ER, I was informed that his kidney was not functioning at all. Zero. He has been sick on and off for a while but the last two weeks, he was really awful. I had to take him to his regular doctor two weeks ago because he was very sick. They took an X-ray and gave him new prescription for his blood pressure. He was OK for a couple of days and then got worse and worse. On Jan. 31, he was terribly sick and was totally exhausted when he went upstairs. He thought he was dying so on Monday morning, Feb. 1, I called his doctor and demanded to give him an MRI. Instead I was told to go to emergency which I did. In a couple of hours at ER, I was told they were moving him to ICU in another hospital because that hospital had no dialysis facility.

When I finally made it home that day, I made an appeal to people I know. Since I volunteered for so many organizations, I asked for their prayers. I posted an appeal to my HOA commuity to pray for him. I asked members of the rose society, my garden club, my choir who forwarded the appeal to my former choir in New York and my Catholic Daughters of the Americas group in New York. My family and friends joined the crusade.

He is out of ICU now and is getting his third dialysis. He is feeling better but it is still a long haul. I will keep on praying and keeping the faith.

Until next time. Stop and smell the roses.
